This seems to be an early photograph of the frigidarium with the palm plants, furniture and mosaic floor, possibly taken just before the baths opened. A later image—used on the hotel's notepaper, and in their pocket size booklets—shows no furniture or plants, and the floor is carpeted, perhaps as a result of patrons slipping on the wet mosaic floor.
Some of the terracotta figures which were in the column niches remain today in the courtyard of the new concrete brutalist hotel which replaced the original one in the 1960s.
