the 'waiting room'

'It would be almost worth getting out of condition to experience the full benefit of the White Rock Turkish Baths. They are amongst the very finest in England and as modern as the moment in equipment and planning, and as beautiful as they are luxurious.'
Though known officially as the waiting room, it was in effect a cooling-room which supplemented the individual cooling cubicles, and it was here that bathers could rest, 'take light refreshments' and have a chat with other bathers.
