These photographs of some of the floor tiles in the hot rooms in no way do the tiles justice. They were taken by flash in a totally dark boarded up room, about five years after the baths had closed. At this time the tiles seemed to be in good condition though they were, of course, no longer clean. Neither floor remains today and it has been maintained that the damage to the floors sustained during the intervening years was such that they could no longer be restored.
