The company was set up at the end of the second world war to purchase Savoy Turkish Baths Limited which was, by now, operating only two Turkish baths—the one at 92 Jermyn Street and the one for women, round the corner in Duke of York Street.

It was clear by this time that there was only a limited clientele for Turkish baths in London, and it is probable that the major reason for the purchase was potential profit from a later disposal of the leases on the baths and the apartments over No.92. Certainly during the last years of the company's existence, the Jermyn Street baths were being kept open mainly for tax reasons.

During its life of almost thirty years, the company was several times in the Courts. It successfully defended more than one case brought against it for keeping an immoral house. And the result of a squabble between the directors resulted in the setting of a legal precedent.

These cases will be treated elsewhere on the site in due course.
