Menu from the London Hammam

Breakfast menu at the Jermyn Street Hammam, 1 Nov 1862
< Urquhart Bequest. Balliol College, Oxford. Box I

Menu for 1 Nov 1862.

This four-sided leaflet comprises an article on Breakfasts and Turkish dishes, together with the menu which is reproduced. It survives only because the Baths Manager, John Johnson, (whilst still continuing his work on behalf of the Foreign Affairs Committees) used it to write to Urquhart since, 'There is not another scrap of paper but this in the room, so I must write small and clear.'
